Tumbling

This discipline consists of just one apparatus being the Tumbling Run.

Tumbling is a truly breath-taking type of gymnastics. It’s all about somersaults, flips, and twists and linking them together. If you’ve already got a bit of gymnastics experience, its easy to get started with tumbling (not to mention its a whole lot of fun)

To train within this discipline is demanding in terms of time, commitment, effort and courage, and a high level of attendance at training sessions is required in this squad.

At first this discipline can be seen as a bit of a slow starter, as we must prepare the gymnast’s body, learning the foundation shapes which are so important in this discipline and conditioning the body giving the gymnast the attributes needed to perform their tumbling series. Our tumblers start the same as our WA squad with club and regional grades.

NOTE: Gymnasts are arranged into groups closely matched by capability, and are therefore smaller than the recreational groups.  Fees for Squad gymnasts vary depending upon an individual gymnast’s actual hours of training, and parents are notified of the precise amount before accepting a place in the squad.
