Over the past few months, our Vivace community has taken another exciting step forward as a number of our coaches and volunteers completed in‑house judging courses in both Women’s Artistic Gymnastics and Tumbling. This initiative has been a brilliant opportunity for our team to deepen their technical understanding and strengthen the support we offer to every gymnast in our club.

Building Stronger, Smarter Coaching

Judging is at the heart of gymnastics. Understanding the Code of Points, routine construction, execution deductions, artistry expectations, and performance standards gives coaches a powerful insight into what truly makes a routine successful.

By taking part in these courses, our trainee judges have gained:

  • A clearer understanding of how routines are evaluated

  • Greater confidence in identifying deductions and strengths

  • A more consistent approach to feedback and corrections

  • A stronger foundation for supporting gymnasts in competition

This knowledge doesn’t just help future judges — it elevates the entire coaching environment.

Why Judging Education Matters for Our Gymnasts

When coaches understand the judging process inside out, gymnasts benefit in every session. It means:

  • More accurate, constructive feedback

  • Smarter skill progressions

  • Cleaner execution and improved artistry

  • Better‑prepared athletes stepping onto the competition floor

Our trainee judges are already bringing this knowledge back into the gym, helping gymnasts refine their routines with clarity and purpose.

A Community Effort We’re Proud Of

One of the most inspiring parts of this project has been seeing coaches, young leaders, and volunteers learning together. It reflects the heart of Vivace — a club where everyone is committed to growing, improving, and supporting our athletes.

These in‑house courses have strengthened our judging pathway, expanded our pool of knowledgeable volunteers, and created new opportunities for those who want to progress further in the sport.

Looking Ahead

We are incredibly proud of every trainee judge who took part. Their dedication to learning and their passion for gymnastics make a real difference to our club culture and to the experience of every gymnast who trains with us.

This is just the beginning. With more judge‑educated coaches and volunteers, we’re excited to see the positive impact ripple through training, competitions, and the confidence of our athletes.

A huge well done to everyone involved — your hard work is helping shape the future of Vivace.
